Dr. Carly Ryan was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, and grew up a patient of Pediatric Associates. Her relationship with her pediatrician, Dr. Robert Shelley, is what sparked her drive to become a pediatrician and she hopes to continue caring for her patients and nurturing relationships like she experienced growing up in the practice.

Dr. Ryan graduated Cum Laude from Armstrong Atlantic State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and subsequently went to medical school at Mercer University School of Medicine, Savannah Campus. While in medical school, Dr. Ryan participated in a medical mission trip to Honduras, received the Outstanding Student in Pediatrics Award, and served as President of the Mercer School of Medicine Student Ambassadors.

Dr. Ryan completed her pediatric residency at the Dwaine and Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital of Savannah at Memorial Health University where she served as Chief Resident and also participated in many educational and outreach programs throughout the Savannah area, specifically teaching about the developmental delay, healthy diet and exercise, and early adolescent care.

Dr. Ryan lives in midtown with her husband, Kevin (also Savannah native), their daughter, Ruthie, and dog, Winston. She enjoys going to the beach, rooting for the Georgia Bulldogs, baking, and trying new, local restaurants.
