Everything you need to know for your first visit to Pediatric Associates of Savannah

Switching doctors can be stressful, but we've done this before.

There are a few special things you’ll need, and a few things you’ll need to know when preparing to bring your child for their very first visit. Everything you need to know about your first visit is right here for you to access over and over again, whether from your phone, tablet, or computer.
So don’t stress…
Whether you’re coming to us from a different pediatrician or if this is your very first visit with your newborn, we’re here to help make it as easy as possible.
Documents You’ll Need
 
  • Birth certificate
  • Child’s full medical history
  • Insurance card(s)
  • List of questions
  • Your driver’s license, or valid photo ID
  • Family health history
When You Arrive
 
If this is your first visit to our office, completed new patient forms will be required. You will need to present your insurance card, photo ID and copay if required by your insurance company. Parents are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes prior to their appointment time to allow adequate time for all steps to be completed.
What to Expect
 
We review growth and development, perform a physical examination, and any other anticipatory actions, testing, and immunizations that are indicated for your child’s specific age recommendations.
Ways to Have a Good Visit
 

Arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time Write down any questions prior to your appointment so you don’t forget.

Bring any medical records from other providers with you.

Bring any medications (or clear photos on your cellphone) your child is currently taking.

Ask for refills, school excuses, sports physical forms, or shot records while at your appointment.

Please be courteous with your cell phone around other patients, and silence your phone when medical personnel are assisting with your visit.
