She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Georgia and Mercer University. She is on staff at both Memorial University Medical Center and St Josephs/Candler hospitals. Having breastfed both of her children, Dr Gheesling has a great passion for breastfeeding and most recently became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) so she could be better equipped to help her patients with breastfeeding. She also offers a monthly “Baby Basics” class to expecting parents to help prepare for the arrival of their little one.
She is married to her husband Brian and they have two children, Anna Kate and Miller and are expecting their third child. They also have two dogs and a Persian cat. They enjoy boating, going to the beach and traveling. Dr Gheesling is a co-leader for Anna Kate’s girl scout troop and is active at her church in the children’s ministry.
